QA and Release Manager  (~75k/v)

We are an employee-owned digital development and project management service company founded in 2013. We are looking now for a QA and Release Manager to work with our company as a senior consultant and partner operating in customer assignments.

Role Summary:

QA and Release Manager is responsible for establishing and governing the quality framework for multi-team customer portal program. QA and Release Manager ensures that all applications meet quality and security standards, and that user acceptance processes align with business expectations.

This role requires management skills, process governance, and cross-functional collaboration with Product Owners, business stakeholders and development teams.

Core Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Strategy and Governance

  • Define and maintain the QA Framework, including policies, processes, and quality standards aligned with regulatory requirements together with Product Owner.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive QA strategy that supports application, integrations, and deployments.
  • Ensure quality assurance is embedded from requirement definition to post-production validation.
  • Manage quality metrics dashboards to monitor defect trends, test coverage, and product stability.

Test Management and Delivery

  • Oversee all test phases: unit, integration, system, performance, security, UAT and regression testing.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, and test data for releases.
  • Manage and optimize automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects via a test management system (e.g. Jira).
  • Coordinate cross-team end-to-end testing for systems involving multiple applications or integrations.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Management

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and front lines to define UAT objectives, entry/exit criteria, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and oversee UAT test plans, scripts, and scenarios that validate real-world business processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to business users participating in UAT.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication

  • Partner with Deployment Management to align testing activities with release schedules.
  • Serve as the primary QA representative in governance and release readiness meetings.
  • Communicate quality risks, testing progress, and release readiness to executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure testing aligns with enterprise policies.

Tooling and Technology Enablement

  • Manage the QA toolset implementation, including automation, performance testing, and defect tracking tools.
  • Manage testing platforms that support scalability, reporting, and integration with CI/CD.
  • Oversee test environment management, ensuring consistency and availability across all test phases.

Metrics, Reporting, and Continuous Feedback

  • Define and monitor key quality KPIs, such as: Defect leakage (UAT and production); Test execution and automation coverage; Defect turnaround time; UAT sign-off rate and post-release defect rate
  • Lead post-release reviews to assess quality performance and identify corrective actions.
